WELCOME NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT
A warm welcome to all of you!
  • It is an honour to cordially welcome you at the 1st Annual Conference for Sjogren Patients; Today and Tomorrow that will be held from October 13 to 14, 2023 in Athens Greece. This conference is the culmination of an enormous collective effort which began in February 2019 when Sjogren’s Europe Federation was established. In the short history of its existence, Sjogren Europe has tried to draw attention to several important issues for Sjogren’s patients such as dry eyes, saliva, fatigue e.g. and to help to address the lack of visibility, attention and solutions for Sjögren’s patients.

    Sjögren Europe today, has become a privileged partner, recognised and appreciated by various stakeholders. Patients with Sjogren’s are better represented at the supranational level. At our 1st Conference, some of the most important topics to consider are clinical trials, empowerment and what’s new in the therapy pathway. This years’ Conference will no doubt provide an excellent opportunity to exchange information and views on how to identify and help all the stakeholders to address the numerous unmet needs of Sjögren’s patients, on how to foster patient involvement and participation in research and any other relevant area, to promote the advancement of knowledge, research, information, treatment and care.

    It is vital that the exchange of views at this conference must be open and constructive. Our 1st Conference provides all of us with an opportunity to learn from one another and create a shared vision so that patients everywhere move forward together to tackle patient needs. The ACSP2023 Conference brings unique opportunities to engage in high level discussions with leaders from around the Europe in healthcare management, research, and industry so that together, we change the face of Sjögren’s and create a better future for all of us.

    I am sure that under this spirit we will achieve a conference to remember.
